YOUTH BOWLING and SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

See the 'News' Page for scholarships awarded

The future of bowling lies in our youth.  The Adirondack USBC is dedicated to maintaining and growing its youth bowling programs, tournaments, and scholarship opportunities.

Our member centers offer youth bowling programs for children of all ages.

Bowling is a high school sport which offers its athletes the opportunity to compete against other schools which not only helps these bowlers improve their games but it also aids in their social skills which they will carry throughout life.

Bowlers can earn scholarships which can offset the costs of a college education which is key to their success after bowling.  SUNY Adirondack offers bowling as a team sport as do many junior and major universities throughout the nation.  Youth bowlers can earn scholarships to these major schools such as Nebraska, Arizona St., and Vanderbilt just to name a few.  While most of our children will not pursue a career as a bowler, these opportunities give them a way to advance their education which they will carry with them into the real world after.

Locally, the Adirondack Bowling Council was a long standing organization dedicated to youth bowling.  For many, many years the council awarded scholarships to local graduating seniors who attend school within the geographic confines of the ADK USBC.  The recipients of these scholarships, who intend to further their educations at accredited institutions of higher learning, can win between $750 and $1500. In 2012, the Council dissolved and its scholarship functions were transferred to the Adirondack USBC Scholarship Committee.
